What beer do people showing up at the Emergency Room tend to drink?


This is a fascinating from the Wonk Blog. The chart above shows ER representation by beer brand. Below, those stats are contrasted with the actual share of the market those beers possess.
The takeaway? Drunk drivers and gun nuts drink malt liquor.
Four brands were significantly overrepresented in the emergency room population, compared with their share of the national beer market. For example, about 46 percent of the emergency room patients said they had consumed Malt liquor, which comprises only a 2.4 percent share of general beer drinking.
